Commercial Auto Insurance

Commercial auto insurance protects your business against liability and damages to your vehicles. It protects cars, trucks, vans, and motor vehicles you use for your day-to-day business operations. Commercial insurance policies are different than personal auto policies because they typically expose you to more risk than a personal auto policy.

Nation One Insurance can help you build custom policies where you only pay for what you need and offer you competitive rates through carriers. Reach out to us today for a commercial auto quote to find the best coverage tailored for your business needs.

Do I need commercial auto insurance to drive for a rideshare company, like Lyft or Uber?

No, you will not need commercial auto insurance if you are personally driving for Uber/Lyft or any ride-sharing company. In most cases, rideshare companies offer insurance coverage when you are driving for them. To make sure you are well protected, you can add an endorsement to your personal policy, which can add additional coverage when your vehicle is being used for any rideshare. If you are operating your vehicle for livery for hire services, you can get commercial auto insurance.

Do I need special insurance to deliver pizza or other goods for a fee?

Yes, most personal auto policies will not cover you if you are delivering for a fee and a loss happens. They may deny your claim if you are doing pizza delivery and any other delivery services with your personal auto. Please be sure to have commercial auto insurance when you are using your vehicle for work-related deliveries. You may be personally liable for any losses.

Does commercial auto insurance cover theft of personal items?

A commercial auto insurance policy only covers the vehicle and the permanent attached equipment to the vehicle. For the contents of the vehicle to be covered, you will need an inland marine policy endorsement added to your general liability policy. Examples of permanent fixtures are a ladder rack installed on your vehicle or a bed tool box.
